Rendall is a typeface created to have an increased legibility but to still pay homage to Modern san serifs of the mid 1900's. Rendall is based on the Swiss typographic style and fits in nicely with other typefaces used in the high modernist movement lead by Joseff Muller-Brockman and Max Huber amongst many others. Rendall is aimed towards use in text formats such as magazines and other feasible locations to set text in a san serif typeface. There are many unique characters to Rendall. For example; the lowercase 'a' is shaped in a very unique manner that draws it's inspiration for the feeling of your eyes seamlessly rolling along to the next letter. The capital 'R' is also another stand out character from Rendall, it is intended to be highly legible but to not contain the signature curves of other popular swiss typefaces such as Helvetica. The lowercase 'g' is also a big separator from other swiss typographic treatments thus adding more interest in reading the text. Rendall is the first typeface designed by Anthony Carl Smith who is still a young designer studying in Mesa, Arizona, a Suburb of Phoenix, Arizona. Anthony is an avid fan of typography and created Rendall during a break in between Spring and Fall Semesters of College where he is studying to be a graphic designer with focus on web development.
