HYPEY BIRTHDAY TO US – 20% OFF TO YOU

Cake is so last year. The best birthday bashes are all about seriously tasty type. So celebrate our 1st birthday with a calorific 20% off your next slab serif* or whatever else tickles your fancy. The party starts now and lasts until midnight on Friday 18th June and we’re offering our generous 20% birthday discount off EVERYTHING. See what we did there? Slab of cake? Slab serif? No? Ok, doesn’t matter, the moment’s gone. The discount hasn’t though, so get a wriggle on and bag some birthday fontage.

It’s been a year since it all started. I can still remember way back when it was purely an idea I had floating around. Since then, we’ve worked with some fantastic designers, built a D&AD award-winning typeface, hosted two Creative Review magazines, drank endless amounts of coffee, and enjoyed every single minute of it. Along with celebrating our first birthday, I’d really like to thank everyone who has supported us along the way.

Our customers and supporters are the core people who help us give you something better. Without you, none of this would have been possible. So thank you for your continued and much appreciated support. We’re still doing what we always have been, but this year we’re looking at things from a wider perspective. The new site (which I have been promising for ages) is not too far off from completion and will improve everything tremendously, along with the addition of some brand new, never-before-seen site features unique to HypeForType. We’ve also managed to sign 15 new contracts with some of the best foundries around, and our new catalogue will comprise of some fantastic typefaces. So, I’ll leave it there for now and hope you can join us to celebrate our first birthday. Again, thank you for the support!

3MINUTES DAHRA BOOK WINS D&AD AWARD

A non-profit DAHRA (designers against human rights abuse) typography book entitled 3Minutes featuring 10 artists (Bibliotheque, Brighten The Corners, Stefan Ghandi, Alex Haigh, Nick Hard, Jeff Knowles, Abbott Miller, Si Scott, Paul Skerm, Un.titled) including myself, aimed at helping to show the full extent of the Tibetan conflict through 10 diverse and extremely powerful 3-minute interviews just won a D&AD in book award for Typography. It’s an honor and quite humbling to be part of such a superb project.

It’s also fantastic to see one of the most passionate guys I know (Rishi Sodha) and DAHRA founder, get the recognition he deserves for bringing superb concept and execution to life, in the form of the 3Minutes book.
