It determine exactly what font represents you as an individual. Apparently… we’re Cooper Black Italic. So the big question is… What Type Are You?

Inspiration: Boarding Pass/Fail

Tyler Thompson has got pretty fed up with the design of boarding passes, or lack of design, so has had a bash himself. You can see more of the designs at his dedicated Boarding Pass/Fail website

If you fancy designing one yourself you can submit your own attempts to his website.

You can already see a range of designs, some of which are ‘ideal world’ designs, some are working with the existing limitations of boarding passes, of which thermal printing is one of them.

New Addition: Brevia

Brevia is a beautiful new font family from Hannes von Dohren. More preview are available on the homepage.

Brevia is a soft sans serif type family consisting of seven weights plus matching italics. The fonts have a hint of a brushed feeling and come across casual and friendly. Nevertheless Brevia’s architecture is straight, making it perfect for longer texts. Because of its big x-height, it also performs nicely in very small sizes. Brevia’s heavier weights are slightly more curved and have an eye-catching appearance. They unfold their strength especially in bigger sizes. This contemporary type family is intended to be used in applications like: Cosmetics, Service, Food and Advertising – basically everywhere where a pleasant feeling should be conveyed. Brevia is equipped for highly professional use. The OpenType fonts have an extended character set to support Central and Eastern European as well as Western European languages.

Inspiration: Fontplore

One of the most impressive student projects, I have ever seen. Fontplore is an interactive application designed for searching and exploring font databases. Fontplore helps you to easily find the right typeface for your project in a collection of several thousands of fonts. It lets you browse, preview, compare and print the fonts you are interested in. And the clou is: It does all that on an interactive table, using tangible objects to navigate and control actions, so the workflow is easy to understand.

Viewing: CargoCollective

We understand how busy people are these days, and time is precious. As you may well know, we are currently working on a brand new site to make these matters, a thing of the past.

However, if you are in a rush before this, it may well be worth taking a look at our Cargo Collective account. It’s probably the most simple and easy to use tool to find exactly what you are looking for.
