Kessel 105 is a geometric sans-serif available in five weights. The apex of all strokes resolve to a sharp point, in a revival of art deco styles of the early twentieth century. The lower case a and g are of the more modern, single-storey variety.
The ascenders and descenders are short, in order to create a relatively more prominent x-height. When used as a text font in upper and lower case, this serves to emphasise the smooth geometry of the font, more apparent in the circular forms of the lower case characters.
Also, it aids legibility at smaller sizes by allocating more space to the x-height, while reducing the space occupied by ascenders and descenders. The result is a classic sans-serif with a modern feel.
Kessel 105 is closely related to Kessel 205.
