Foundry: Talbot Type
Kursk 105 is a display font, inspired by the style of Russian display types of the soviet-era. It has an uncompromising geometry, square and solid.
The square look is emphasised by characters such as the upper case A with its shallow inclines, giving it a squarer look where a more conventional A creates a triangle.
The square look is further emphasised, by using an x-height that is only marginally shallower than the cap height, so there is little difference between capitals and lower case in their size and appearance, creating a compact look.
Kursk 105 is closely related to Kursk 205, which is similar but a little more rounded in places.
